We all work together in our beautiful studio in Birmingham on Tuesdays. And for the rest of the week, our team has the flexibility to work from home or from the studio based on individual preferences, the nature of roles and training requirements, and the needs of your team and the wider business.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Creative Director (responsible for marketing), you'll be responsible for creating compelling IE content – telling the story of the agency: its people; its values; the projects we undertake for our values-driven, not-for-profit clients – across all media and channels.
IE’s Content Creator / Marketeer ensures that IE’s marketing is distinctive, compelling, impactful and effective in differentiating IE from our competitors, and clearly positioning us as the leading brand and digital agency for the charity, health, education and membership sectors.
The ultimate goal is to drive a steady stream of brand and digital enquiries to IE’s sales team.
Day to day, you'll be responsible for:
- Fuelling new business enquiries – Researching and creating content designed to celebrate IE, IE’s clients, and IE projects, in order to generate new business enquiries
- Working in partnership with IE’s Creative Director who is responsible for IE’s marketing strategy. Work will include marketing planning and timely delivery of on-brand content, specifically including the tangible tasks listed above
- Participating in company practices that positively impact our individual and collective performance against key social and environmental criteria
Key Skills
To excel in the role, you'll need:
- The ability to quickly internalise IE’s tone of voice and brand personality
- The ability to quickly assimilate knowledge about IE, its values, products, processes, case studies and client base
- The ability to write high quality, original, on-brand content
- The ability to research projects and prospects via active listening and questioning – desk research and face-to-face/video interviews
- The ability to communicate with brevity, clarity, wit, sensitivity and gravitas
- Organisation and personal time management (juggling and prioritising a constantly shifting set of priorities)
- Experience, understanding and enthusiasm for digital / social channels, in order to create, manage and report on, channel-appropriate content / activity
- Enthusiasm for the sectors (charity, health, education and membership) and the industry (brand and digital) in which IE works
- Interest in emerging trends in our sectors and industry.

The Role
As a web developer, you’ll be working alongside our experienced, talented project team of developers on a range of projects, typically focused on building websites and bespoke systems for an impressive portfolio of values-driven clients.
You will be working as part of an exceptional team of digital consultants, developers, UX / UI Designers, and project managers, who have the appetite and talent to ensure that clients continue to receive the very best solutions available.
As an agency, we use a mixture of Drupal and WordPress to build the bulk of our sites. You’ll be expected to develop new websites and digital services using both of these CMS systems, and to support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of systems already live. Training will be provided where needed, but it’s essential that you bring strong coding skills, proven experience, and a logical approach to problem solving.
The Person
As a mid-to-senior level web developer at IE, you'll need demonstrable commercial experience of building high quality websites including custom plugins/modules while using PHP with object oriented concepts and best practices.
In addition, you'll need good knowledge of WordPress, Drupal or similar content management systems, together with a grasp of front end web technologies such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Our ideal candidate will be excellent with code, able to work quickly and efficiently and be happy to offer a reassuring, expert voice to key clients when required. You will have a systematic approach to problem solving; being able to prioritise issues whilst managing expectations internally. You'll be highly motivated and have a “can do” attitude, with ambition to develop your existing technical and commercial skills.
